I worked in a risk team that managed technological developments in DBS. As part of my placement, I was tasked to build websites that showcased changes in data trends, which were used to identify and alert risk managers of any issues.
As a risk team engineer, I was tasked to create dashboards to support the efforts of the risk team auditors. These dashboards would detect and raise problems based on guidelines and metrics laid out by internal policies. In addition, the dashboard help to record the average of incidents over several months and display trends in technology complaince.
Within the placement, I spent the majority of my time engaging in full stack development. I learned a lot about the Angular front development, advanced SQL coding. In addition, I spent time developing python-based automation bots to assits auditors in their various tasks, such as raising and notifying issues to stakeholders.
I spent a lot of time presenting my dashboard designs with senior management and discussing extensively with different parties to understand issues. Through this placement, I developed my presentation skills and my ability to be proactive, as well as condensing information.
