I've been working in the GPU Top Design team at Apple which is one of the many teams working on designing the graphics chips that power Apple's devices.
The majority of my work has been on RTL and GPU Design. Register transfer logic (RTL) is a code description of a digital circuit written by engineers describing the behaviour of a digital circuit before it can then be synthesised into a physical layout. A GPU is the part of the computer responsible for processing and rendering images.
I have built on what I had learned at university about digital electronics and computer architecture and have learnt how chips are designed in industry as well as how to use industry-standard EDA tools.
Teamwork and communication skills have been essential to working effectively as part of a team.
